What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using thumbs and fingers on these reflex areas which release blockages and congestion.

Why Reflexology?

Our modern lifestyle is hectic and demanding. When we build up tension, anxiety or fear, we become stressed. While short term stress can stimulate us into action, long term stress can cause chronic imbalances. The feet have a rich supply of nerve endings. Circulation tends to slow down in the feet as they are furthest from the heart. Energy and circulation are slowed down when there are blockages which impede blood flow. These blockages are referred to as “congestion” which causes malfunctioning to a certain area in the body.

Reflexology brings improved circulation, reduces pain, stress, anxiety and depression. Reflexology is a noninvasive, gentle and effective technique which is being widely utilized for a variety of conditions. We are structural, chemical and spiritual beings. With reflexology we can balance and treat the whole being, rather than just a part of the body. The powerful healing forces of reflexology, bring renewed vigor and vitality and help to eliminate illness and pain from your life.

About Reflexology

Foot Reflexology is a holistic, healing modality which involves applying pressure to the feet with specific thumb and finger techniques with the intention of creating a response in another part of the body. There is a map of the whole body on our feet. During a reflexology session we work with this map and apply pressure to points which correspond to all organs, glands and parts of the body. Eventually we affect whole systems of the body and encourage balance or homeostasis.
